Laser Labiaplasty Recovery: What to Expect Week by Week

Recovery from laser labiaplasty is usually smoother than patients expect. Here’s a realistic, week-by-week guide to healing, comfort, and getting back to normal.
A common worry before labiaplasty is the recovery. The good news: with the CO₂ laser technique, healing is often gentler and more comfortable than with traditional surgery, because the laser seals small vessels and is kinder to surrounding tissue.
The first days
Mild swelling and tenderness are normal in the first few days and are well managed with simple measures and prescribed care. Most patients rest, apply cold compresses, and keep the area clean and dry as instructed.
Week by week
- Days 1–3 — rest, gentle hygiene, manage swelling
- Days 5–7 — many patients return to desk work and light routine
- Weeks 2–3 — swelling settles noticeably; comfort improves daily
- Weeks 4–6 — gradual return to exercise as advised
- Around 6 weeks — typically cleared for intimate activity
Tips for a smooth recovery
- Wear loose, breathable underwear and clothing
- Avoid strenuous activity until your surgeon clears you
- Follow your hygiene and wound-care instructions closely
- Attend your follow-up reviews
