Preparing for Your Labiaplasty: A Practical Checklist

A little preparation makes your labiaplasty smoother and your recovery calmer. Here’s a practical checklist for the days before your procedure.
Feeling prepared helps you arrive relaxed and recover comfortably. Once your procedure is scheduled, a few simple steps make all the difference.
In the weeks before
- Follow any pre-operative instructions from your surgeon
- Avoid smoking, which can slow healing
- Discuss your medications and supplements with Dr. Amoroso
- Plan time off — most patients need around 5–7 days
The day before
- Prepare loose, comfortable clothing and cotton underwear
- Stock up on any prescribed medication and supplies
- Arrange a calm space to rest and someone to support you, if possible
- Get a good night’s sleep
On the day
Wear comfortable clothes, follow fasting or hygiene instructions if given, and arrive with any questions written down. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and usually takes around an hour.
Set yourself up for recovery
Having everything ready in advance means you can simply rest afterward. Your surgeon will provide detailed post-operative guidance and a follow-up to keep your healing on track.
